Third Post of the Third Marking Quarter

Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie is an amazing book. I’ve just finished reading it for the third time. This book has everything you could want in a book. This book will make you want to laugh and cry. In this book Steven is a kid in the eighth grade who plays drums and has a little brother named Jeffery who at first he thinks is annoying but grows to love him when he is diagnosed with Leukemia.  

Steven does everything to try and make his little brother feel better. He let him play his drums which he never let anyone do, and he gave him a concert to raise money to pay all the hospital bills. But my favorite thing that he did was when Jeffery was crying one day because one of his classmates called him bald, Steven went to the bathroom and shaved off all his hair to make Jeffery feel better.

Every time I read this book it’s like I’m reading it for the first time.

Second Post of the Third Marking Quarter

            In The Slayer Chronicles: First Kill, Joss goes through some major change. In the beginning of the book he starts off as an emotional and never tough, he also was afraid to become a slayer. By the end of the book he was tough, not as emotional and ready to take down any vampire that got in his way.

            In the beginning you could kind of see he was toughening up because when it was recess time in his school, the kids that bullied him were playing kickball and the ball rolled towards him. He picked up the ball and they told him to give it back, but he didn’t. Instead he kicked it with all of his might sending it to the roof of the school.

            Towards the middle he got a little tougher. He had to complete many tasks in order to become a slayer. He had to do hand to hand combat with fellow slayers. At first he would lose and then, he became a great fighter and would constantly win. He would also have to run around a huge track like 30 times.

            At the end of the book he bombed a whole house filled with vampires killing them and he was fighting a vampire and he threw him on a tree where a branch went right through his heart. Joss changed very much within this one. Let’s see how much he’ll change within the whole series. Can’t wait for the next book to come out.
